Putin: Russia’s deficit of skilled staff to reach 3 mln ppl 2030
MOSCOW, Nov 1 (PRIME) -- Deficit of professionals may reach about 3 million people at the end of 2030 if the government takes no measures to improve training President Vladimir Putin said in a televised conference on Friday with participants of the WorldSkills Hi-Tech-2019 competition.
“The problem of staff training and deficit of personnel with necessary skills is not only typical of Russia, but of the global labor market in general. It is present in many countries, including the developed economies of Western Europe, our neighbors and major partners. We know about these problems, and the problem is a pressing issue in Russia,” he said.
“If we take no active effort to solve the problem, the data of respectable foreign sources say that deficit of skilled personnel here will amount to about 3 million people as of the end of 2030. The figure is slightly less than the forecast for Germany or the U.K., but it is too much for us.”
The situation may lead to losses of billions of U.S. dollars in short-received revenue, so this is a challenge for the government, he said.
